Critical Error 30
« on: February 03, 2008, 02:56:09 pm »

I have been encountering this critical error 30 for a long time now. It seems to be fairly andom. Wheneer I start up MC12, I get this error maybe 30-50% of the time. Then every once in a while while using it, I will get this error. When I get it, I simply have to shut down MC12 and fire it back up (and sometimes get the error again). Eventualy it will work and run fine for awhile, but clearly this is annoying.

I've had this problem for the last 100 or 150 builds or so (I'm not sure when I first noticed it). The program says some part may be missing or corrupt and to reinstall. I have done this countless times without success... and I have now even tried it on XP SP2 and Vista, and I get the error on both OS's (though maybe less on Vista, but I just started using Vista within the last week so the jury may still be out. I is present neverthelesss).

Duplicating this error is difficult to do because it seems to be quite random.

Has anyone else encountered this? Any fixes?

For what it's worth, my library is large (over 60,000 music files) but I would be surprised if that is a contributing factor.

You could try reinstalling your license.

Or this (from the Weird Problems thread):

Critical Error #30
A virus causes MC to shut down.
