Well, I already posted a bug message with 16.0.128, 168, 176 and with 17.0.20 and 22, but want to mention it here once again:

The update of the info and list panels (in theater view) on the CLIENT is missing/faulty

I want to use a tablet PC to remote control Media Center 16/17 via Theater View (this is obviously a client computer which remote controls the server)

Everything works fine, except that the info and list panels only very rarely show the correct data, they shows the movie from yesterday or one of the last albums played, but NOT the actual track playing (which renders this function totally unusable, sorry); the wife-acceptance factor due to this is close to zero

additional informations after extensive tests:

It's totally unimportant if you start playback on the server directly or remotely from the client. The 'Playing Now' panel gets properly updated, but the info panel gets locked up on an old track or movie (even of yesterday, even after having server and client switched off overnight).

I have a certain guess where it might be located: If I change something on the library (server side) in the meantime, then exit the MC16 program on the client and restart it, then the 'Playing Now' and the 'Info' panel are both correct. As long as I don't change something on the server library, the info on the info panel stays locked on old data.

Let me know if you need more informations or tell me what to try

oh and I just found another problem:

In the clients options I have set 'start at the last location' and it starts correctly with zone 'There: House', shows correctly the actually playing track data within 'Playing Now' and the 'Info' panels. But then gets stuck at this track. Track changes don't get updated on both panels.

As soon as I switch the zone to 'Here' and back to 'There; House' the data get updated (both panels) correctly after that

well, Jim told me to bump this post, so I do that:


This bug exists since many many many many versions and I just want to finally be able to work with a tablet remote client the way it should be!

Also in the glorious new versions of 17.0.20 and 22 this behaviour is still faulty:

- Update of 'Playing Now' is correct
- Update of 'Info' and 'List' is only sometimes correct, in most cases faulty *shows remnant data"

I even posted screenshots with version 16.0.168 to prove it, but until now no one heard me or even responded to it... oh well

It's possible that you have bug with the video driver.  Can you link to the screenshots?

Does anyone else see this problem?
