JRiver with Bluesound?
« on: September 30, 2014, 05:44:36 pm »

Is it possible to use JRiver with a Bluesound Node? In my (hypothetical) system, I'd have JRiver on my upstairs PC. Music files would be on the PC or on a NAS. The Bluesound Node is downstairs, connected to my stereo system. The Bluesound is designed to be the renderer with the Bluesound App as the controller. No need for JRiver. But I wonder if it's possible to still use JRiver and just use the Node as a means to get the music from the computer to the stereo. (I'm a relative newbie, so please excuse any misuse of terms!) :)

Welcome to the forum.

It appears that the Node doesn't use UPnP or DLNA.  It uses SMB, so it should show up as a drive or be able to copy files from a drive.

This post on their forum is from January:

Maybe they've added something since the post.

It's hard to know what you could do with it, but you could use the trial version of MC to experiment.
