Can someone give me a hand with this?
G'Day Rob,
When you have a question unrelated to the thread, such as in this case, could you in future start a new thread with the question please. Otherwise threads just ramble all over the place and it gets really hard to work out which posts are answering which questions.
First comment on the "previously determined to be bad" issue is, this has been
reported by at least one other person, and the fix was simply to shutdown MC and restart it. Maybe reboot your PC just to be sure.
If that doesn't fix it, search the forum for the term "previously determined to be bad" and you will find lots of information.
This post is good, although lacking some detail:
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=92548.msg637129#msg637129Basically Matt is saying create a Smartlist, don't restrict it to any particular media, so all media types will be included, then limit the database to be queried to the "Bad" database. See image for clarification. Then all you need to clear the "Bad" flag is delete the record in that database. That is, delete from the library.
Make sure you do not delete the files from disk, or recycle them! You don't want to lose your files completely.
Once that is done, reimport the files. That doesn't explain why they were flagged as bad, but the import may work a second time.
Finally, the correct way to transfer a library from one PC to another is to do a library backup on the old PC, and a library restore on the new PC. If the PCs aren't configured identically in terms of drive letters and directories used for media, then you will need to do some maintenance to "fix" the library. If you want to go down that path, search the forum for topics on transferring between PCs. There have been some thorough descriptions of what needs to be done recently.
Some kind forum administrator may split your question out to a new thread, but if no-one does, and you need more information, please do start a new thread, and provide a link back to your original question.
