Need a license code in clear text
« on: June 04, 2016, 07:01:20 pm »

All I have is a mjr file -- this is useless. The product wants a key entered. I haven't re-installed it lately, but I guess it just went nuts on its own. This has happened before. How do I get a text key that can be entered?

Also, I would like to locate the registry entries. Where would they be located?

This must be the problem: "The restore activates Media Center and installs the license automatically" ... because anything done "automatically" will always fail at some point.

If I need to un-install the product to fix this problem is there a way to back up my settings first?

Thanks. I chose the e-mail option and got the code. For some unknown reason when I restarted media center now it doesn't ask me for any code and just came up normally. Some weird glitch.

Sure. Do a Library Backup.  That saves the whole library and all of your settings to a zip file.  File > Library > Backup Library .

After you reinstall (or even move to a different computer), use that file to:  File > Library > Restore library .
