A suggestion for improving the forum search experience.
« on: December 28, 2016, 05:38:41 pm »

Not sure where to post this... In my experience, search results almost always include lots, and lots, of entries from one of the many "Media Center XX.X.XXX - Available Here" threads. But since I'm usually looking for information about how to do something, it's a pretty sure bet that what I'm looking for won't be in one of those threads. And yet there are often so many such results, that it's hard to mentally filter them out so I might find a hit on what I'm looking for. I would like to suggest that having a way to filter out the "... Available Here" threads from search results would make search more user friendly. Perhaps an option to turn on/off those results in Advanced search (for my preferences they would be off by default) would be possible.

try adding -"available here" to your search or try using Google to search and adding jriver to your search term.
