Hi all
I was wondering whether there has been any progress on Qobuz support? It appears almost every app under the sun is adding Qobuz support these days.
Being able to access Qobuz from within MC would do away with a lot of hassle. BubbleUPnP and JRemote seem to get in each others way. JRiver's DLNA client doesn't seem to like being addressed by both Control Points successively.

We have no plans to support Qobuz.

I agree with jacobacci that it would be a big help having qobuz on board.

Other applications which are for free or cost an apple & an egg can do it - so it should not be rocket science to do it.

But perhaps I am completely wrong ...

Still: please do reconsider - it will be thankfully received by your custormers over the big pond

I don't know if Qobuz and TIDAL are "fragile services". Perhaps.
But in this case the owners (and authors) of Audirvana should be crazy, because they support those services (HiRes and MQA).
Me, I'm waiting for the Audirvana for Windows version. If they give what they promise I'll switch from JRiver.
It's a pity: the Qobuz API are really simple to handle and should not be of a problem for you (better developers than me). Same for TIDAL.

If you do a search of the forums about Tidal, you'll see why it wasn't done. Same likely would apply to Qobuz too.

For what it helps, I would be very interested in Qobuz integration too.
I had once considered writing (or trying to write...) my own plugin.
But I have to admit that getting an API key from Qobuz is a looooong process. And the requirements they set were incompatible with my hobbiyist condition (App to be coded in less than one month, an so on).

Qobuz went near bankruptcy 2 or 3 years ago (or is it already 4?), has been bought, and seems to be in much better shape now. In the realm of classical music, they are really better than other providers.

Qobuz is unlikely to make more money by lowering its price. Nobody makes money in the audio streaming business.

Qobuz also sells downloads.

By respect and support for musicians, I have a streaming subscription with reduced prices on downloads. Yes I buy downloads after discovering albums that I like by streaming. Strange isn't it?

I just downloaded JRiver28. Went to Streaming and created another entry "Qobuz" woth the address: https://play.qobuz.com.
And to my surprise, it works! I can start and control my Qobuz from JRiver!! Pleasant surpise, I might add.

If JRiver won't adapt to streaming and incorporate it from the likes of Qobuz then existing customers will leave, and there won't be many news either

You should start a poll for your paying customers (those who makes sure you still make money) if they request a Qobuz/Tidal/Spotify integration.

As far as I am concerned, I would be glad to update if I could get Qobuz integration.

That said, I once considered writing my own JRiver plugin for Qobuz, and I have to admit that dealing with Qobuz to get access to their API was a nightmare. I gave up.

That was about mid-2018, maybe their position has evolued since that time.

You won't get access to Qobuz/Tidal as private person. If I recall correctly there have been some issues with Kodi that a plugin was primarily used to download music from their servers. So they blocked the public API.

Hi,

they may not make money but as a subscriber to Qobuz services and as a user of JRiver Media Center, I would be interested to have a swift integration of Qobuz in MC.

Same, I also try to by stuff from Bandcamp (physical or downloads) and I go to liveshows whenever possible and by merch directly from the bands.

Hi

I will try to give you both information and my opinion.

1/ I am a JRiver supporter. I have bought several versions for many years and I recently became the French translator for JRiver. Of course, for free.

2/ If you want DLNA and Qobuz, you can use Minimserver (free without format and rate conversion), Lumin App (free, IOS and Android) and Bubleupnpserver to make your DNLA renderer Open Home. But you do not have a full integration of Qobuz with your library: you do not get your Qobuz favorites and purchases within the global library.

3/ Roon has a nice and full integration of Qobuz with your library, but it is expensive and lot of aspects are a kind of "spaghetti platter".

4/ What is "crazy" today is to setup a dedicated computer, configure software, tag albums, make backups, when you can listen to nearly everything with streaming.

I am 62 with 2 36 and 35 years old boys, musicians as I am, loving to listen to music, and they look at me if I were a Zombie to have a Mac Mini dedicated to music.

Streaming is a PITA for musicians and their revenues, it will have to change for this, but it is currently the way most people listen to music at home, on their phones and in their car.
