yes, they just go up in number. last one is no 16 of same email. ie  buy button 16

then media center 24 windows attachment with the huge number, which ive saved a few times. only thing that changes is the date.ie todays is 4th.. yesterday it said 3rd  etc. it is becoming annoying tbh.

not had any more emails, so if anyone did something, then thanks.

Just purchased the MC24 window version yesterday, problem getting it installed.
I have the MC22, not the MC23, would that pose a problem ?
Should I get the MC23 version first then install the MC24 ?

Install MC23 now, restore your license.  When MC24 is available, just install it.

I have both Media Center20 Master & Media Center21 Master restored (not installed yet).

I want to upgrade one of above for Media Center24 however not Master but Windows only.
Is it possible or do i have to newly purchase Windows version?

MC24 for Windows will be available as both a 32-bit build and a 64-bit build, so both will be available. The upgrade will include either one you want to use too.

You need 23.0.102 or higher to use an MC24 license.  If it's already licensed, just wait for MC24 to be available.

Your buy-button e-mail (for JRiver 24) says:

"Your web purchase should have activated Media Center on your PC automatically."

As best I can tell it did not.  When I click on the .mjr file I get wrong version.  Currently running 23.0.102 on Windows 10.

It is working for fine right now.

I bought a license of MC23 on Jan 26 and paid full price of $49 I was upgrading from a previous version. I  thought I that I would  be getting a discount since I was not a new user, but that was not the case . Now less than two months later there is a newer version of the product being announced. I feel that I should have been made aware that I could wait for another month and then be able to purchase the next version, specially since you state in your announcement " you can buy MC24 now and get a discount from any previous version of Media Center". I feel I would be paying a double upgrade price now if I wanted to go to MC24.

The process should be:
Download and install MC 23.102.
Restore your license.

But if it already had an MC23 license, it might not install the MC24 license.

I'm running MC22 today.
Will all of my audio settings remain with an upgrade?
I'm using active speakers and use MC for crossover settings with a Lynx card, and don't want to loose this setup.

I've just purchased MC24 for the update price Thank you. I note it says when trying to install that its not compatible with my previuos version license type meaning I must have accidentally purchased a full license even though I don't need or want that as I only have windows installed. I note that you say that MC24 is compatible with all versions of previous versions of MC. I also note that during the buy process one has to give a version of a previous version license code, why at that point if the license I'm trying to buy, don't you warn us its not compatible instead of waiting till after one's completed the purchase then finding out.
So now what do I have to do? Cancel my payment via my credit card, or do you see my "mistake" and require me to buy another license for a not wanted full license and how do I get a credit for the first purchase please?

When i check for updates it says: "A newer version is available at a special pre-order price" I have upgraded my version 23 to 24 but I can't find this new version to install anywhere? Do you mean a new version of the license or what??  ?

Why does it say in the player a new version is available when it isn't until May, weird wording.

I upgraded many days ago to ver24, but now when I press "check for upgrades" in Mediacenter it makes me believe there is a new version of the program, but it isn't a new version, just a new license upgrade I have already payed for.

Install MC23 now, restore your license.  When MC24 is available, just install it.
I upgraded from MC22 to MC24 as well. I installed MC23 today (64 bit which sounds fantastic BTW) what licence do I restore, the one I just received for MC24? thanks.

My last version of Media Center is a MC22 Master License. Since Media Center on the QNAP appears to be a dead end, I decided to upgrade to MC24 Windows. Registration key says its for a different product.

Looking through this thread, it seems I needed to install an older version of MC Windows so I installed my registered version of MC21 Windows. Registration key for MC24 Windows still says its for a different product.

So how do I go from MC22 Master License to MC24 Windows?

edit: Nevermind, figured it out. Installed MC23 Windows, then MC24 Windows registration key and it works.

Guys,

I've been a subscriber, updating all along several times, for years.  I just purchased an update license to MC23 on 1/24/18  for $27 (windows)  Now there's a pending release and upgrade fee?  Is there a grace period for recent purchases?

How do you determine your early upgrade pricing? When I did the early upgrade from MC21 to MC22, it was $16.98, when I did the early upgrade from MC22 to MC23, it was $15.98, and now the early upgrade from MC23 to MC24 is $18.98?

I am confused. I am running MC22 and received an email that I can upgrade at the discount price before 3/10 from any version, MC10 or latrer. However, the help page for upgrading seems to assume that MC23 is installed. In my case, MC23 is not installed; MC22 is. I have never purchased MC23.

Yes, I have read this entire thread, but I am still confused. (And I am concerned that I will not be able to resolve my questions in time to qualify for the upgrade discount.) Any clarification on the process that I need to follow would be appreciated.

Download and install MC23.  Then purchase.  Make sure that the price is correct before completing the purchase.

Where does the help assume MC23 is installed?

You are correct, sir. The Registration Codes had been relegated to my junk folder. I apologize for wasting your time addressing what should have occurred to me.

1) The email says that the first thing that I need to do is to install the "correct" version of MC first, with the link taking me to a download of MC23. Does this mean that I must have MC23 installed before I can advance purchase MC24? I would really rather not bother with this step if it is not absolutely necessary.

2) The next link is for "older" versions. Why would I need to be concerned with older versions if MC23 (or the latest version) should be installed first as part of the process of reserving the upgrade at a discounted price? This confuses me.

3) Is there a way that I can purchase in advance (at the discounted price), MC24 and deal with the various installations and license recoveries at some future time when I have a couple of hours to do so? I just don't have the time for this tonight given more pressing responsibilities.

Here is a copy of the instructions that were sent to me  (with my codes removed, of course):

Install the Correct Version First

You must install the correct version of JRiver Media Center first and then restore your license.  The latest version of JRiver Media Center is available on our download page:

Older versions are available here:

https: ...

Then Restore Your License

More information is here: https: ...

I sense that some patience is being summoned to deal with my questions; unfortunately, in spite of a technical engineering career spanning >30 years, I am confused.

Kmmcd, if you have a Windows licence currently, purchase the MC24 Upgrade using this page: https://jriver.com/purchase_24_as_upgrade.html

If you have a Linux or Master licence, use the links on the first post in this thread: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,114521.0.html
Those are the same links / web pages as were in the Pre-order email.

You will need the registration code from your MC22 purchase to buy using those links, which it seems you now have in the email you found.

Once you have paid and received the email from buy-button at jriver, with an mjr file attached, you don't need to do anything else until MC24 is available for download. Job done.
