I recently obtained the Ayre DAC but I am still having some issue playing 24bit/96K or 24 bit/192K.  I am currently using Foobar with my laptop and although Foobar
displays the rate is 24bit/192K, my USB DAC still displays the rate is 44KHz which is basic CD rate. 
Does anyone know or anyone has used Ayre QB-9 DSD with JRiver?  How is your setup? 

Ayre website recommends installing Streamlength® driver for 96Khz but if I were to install JRiver, do I need to install Streamlength?

If Ayre recommends installing a driver, you should probably try it.

With Windows 10, you may not need the Ayre driver. Prior to W10, you will need the driver to go above 96 Khz, although you should be able to 96 KHz without the driver.

You should also check the Windows Sound setup to be sure the higher sample rates are enabled. You can check if they are working in the Sound setup procedure.

If you want to do DSD, be sure to check Bitstreaming  for DSD in Media Center Audio Options.

In the upper right hand corner of the display window is a little box with 3 vertical lines. It is Audio Path. It will tell you what the input sample rate is and what the output sample rate is. If MC is changing it, it will be reported their.

The  Ayre Driver is an USB ASIO driver. In most cases ASIO delivers the best SQ. So you should install it. Also check under MC->Tools->Audio->Device Settings->Open Driver Control Panel 16 or 24 bit (my Asus SFX II card requires this), if required by Ayre.
