What are the best options for HDR and Oled C1?
« on: January 09, 2022, 11:53:26 am »

Hello,

here I have jriver 28 with a PC equipped with a 3080. I have an LG C1 65 as a screen.

So I wanted to know what were the best settings to do with JRiver.

Thank you for your help.

Try searching but use Google and add JRiver HDR to your search.

Search for HDR in this thread as well:  https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=130905.0

Given the GPU you will probably want to use madvr and so https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=176215 is the thread to read

I'd start with an nice and easy Bench Mark of using JRVR with the following settings:
- Output --> HDR Passthrough (and enable OS HDR support if you are not running Win11 so it can toggle HDR mode on and off.  If running Win 11 just turn on HDR in the Windows Settings Panel)
- Output --> Advanced --> Enable 10-bit output for SDR Video
- Scaling --> Algorithm --> Jinc
- Scaling --> Scale in Sigmoidal Light
- Scaling --> Super Res Enhancement
- Scaling --> Advanced Scaling --> Luma Image Doubling --> FSRCNNX 16
- Scaling --> Bilateral Chroma Scaling
- Scaling --> Downscaling --> Jinc

This will give you a good starting point tapping the power of the 3080 with JRVR (note: Development is active so expect future changes).  You can the compare how the image looks with madVR etc.

JRVR topic is here:
https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,130657.0.html

You need to set it in MC's Video options.
