Startup screen
« on: January 08, 2023, 01:27:24 am »

Hi All,
There is an annoying effect when I start the MC30.
I clicked on the wiki once before and whenever I start it, that picture always comes up
How can I switch to album view?
Thx

I see that you already have "Audio" specified in your startup options.

I don't know the answer to your problem, it does seem like a possible bug.

Did you try selecting "Albums" in the tree, then closing MC (including the server in the system tray if you run that too) and relaunching. Does that get rid of the offending wikipedia page?

I reported this several versions back with this problem.
Believe this is a problem when you have Media server pre-started when
you start computer or you go to the JRiver folder and select Media Server.
Seems like Media Center ignores what the Tools/Options/Startup Interface/
Location: is set to when Media Server is running in the background. Kind of
seems like a bug to me.

Just make sure the Options/Startup/Windows Startup is set to Nothing.
Then whatever the Tools/Options/Startup Interface/Location: is set to will function.
If you open Task Manager when you start Media Center you will see
Media Center running under Apps and Media Service running in processes. When
you close Media Center it kills both Media Center and Media Service. Only problem
I have is Media Center is slow to close and start without Media Server set to
run at startup.

I see this issue more than half the time I start up MC. (still on version 29 here, though, Windows 10).

I have Tools/Options/Startup Interface/Location set to Start, and the MC server is set to start when Windows starts.

I just set my startup view to audio.

I went to Playing Now and closed the program.

I ran again as Library Server.

Then I launched the program from the start menu, and it showed Audio.

So I'm not able to reproduce.  Could you provide steps to show the problem?  Thanks.

I am running MediaCenter version 30.0.41 on Windows 10 version 21H2.
The simplest way to see the problem is to set Media Center startup
to Nothing when starting computer. After computer is running I open Media Center
and it loads to video page which is what I have location set to.

Then close Media Center. After it closes I navigate to MediaCenter 30 folder and
run Media server. Now open MediaCenter again. Mine now opens to Audio which
is not what I have it set to. If I change to Playing Now and close Media Center again
and then restart Media Center it opens to Playing Now when it should open to
Video. Acting like Location is set to Last Location.
Close Media Center again and Media Center 30 task in Task Manager. This closes the Media Server. Run Media Center again.
Now it opens correctly to video. If I set Media Server to start when computer is started, I get the same incorrect results. And I get different results which incorrect page MediaCenter opens to at different times when Media Server is running. Almost like it randomly picks what it opens to.
Open to suggestions.

Thanks.  I'll try to change the next build to always show the startup views when it comes out of Media Server mode.  Let us know how it goes.  Thanks.
