Panel
« on: August 22, 2024, 05:27:27 am »

Hi All,

Just wondering what I did wrong...
I have a windows PC surround system with a JRiver MC32 at its heart (actually there are two with a central library but that's beside the point rn)

I currently use VNC from a desktop to access it from my normal working desktop, seems OK, but would like some sort of lightweight remote...
So I looked at Panel in a web browser.
Has all the right characteristics, works on any browser, simple, etc.

Unfortunately I clearly don't know how to use it properly because all it did was break my existing sound settings.
I did get almost as far as playing a tune, but it played for 1 second & then stopped.
Then that host wouldn't play anything at all, because it's settings are now all wrong, overwritten by the panel

I found my notes & reset everything back to its working settings,

Play to "here" works fine - very clever
Play to "player" - is that the host machine running MC32 ?
Is it going to reset everything to stereo or can it send the multi-channel file locally?

-or-
Is there a remote which will play the files natively in multi-channel?
Ideally I shouldn't need to see the desktop, but I am thinking that's going to be a thing.

Thanks in advance
;-)

Panel doesn't change settings unless you tell it to, and then only a few, and only if you've allowed it to.

What you're trying to play may not be playable on the device you're playing to.

Read the Remotes topic on the wiki.  Look at Tremote.
