What happened to Track Lookup for Record?
« on: December 12, 2003, 09:27:54 am »

I just upgraded to 8.0.400 since I was having trouble ripping my old LPs.  Now the feature that I was having trouble with is gone.  How do I access YADB to get my tracks for my old LP records before I rip them?

Individual Track Lookup went the same way as CDDB in MJ8...into oblivion. You need to upgrade to MC 9.1/10 for ITL which uses YaDB.

So are you saying that if I upgrade to MC 9.1 I can get track info for my LPs?

Not directly...

You record the vinyl to wav and give it a name (ie the track name). Now you convert the wav to whatever your preferred format is. Add the file to your MC library (if it hasn't been). Right click on the file and select Library Tools>Lookup info from YaDB. I don't know what YaDB uses as a search value (track name?), so your hit rate will vary.

Is there an upgrade from MJ to MC?  I kinda feel cheated since I bought a product with important features that have now been deprecated.

There wasn't, but there is now. See...

Quite an attractive upgrade path ($12.99) for v10
