Using dual monitor config..
If Hairstyle is run on one monitor and playing now is changed on the other, playing now is not updated in the Hairstyle view.

You are working fast. Wow!

2. Changed: Media Mode not persistent between sessions.

Why? Can you please at least make it an option?

And another issue is, the whe names starting with "The" are not sorted correctly in the view scheme items. They appear under "T".

so long... I know you will work it out.

Bugs (still):
1. New AW method for CD burning has no indication of how many BYTES you have left for burning (like all burning programs have).  MC/MJ had this...kind of sucks now without.  Also, a graphical floodfill progress bar is nice too (like most good burners have, too).

2. When you click on the Burn CD toolbar icon, it starts the AW burn dialog on the wrong pane...so, you can't select audio or data CD (defaults to audio always!).

Is it such a good idea to hide the tools menu this way? I mean, I know where they are, but would a new user?

And I just want to add my voice to those crying out for a longer search bar. The one we have now really is all but useless. Especially when trying to edit a smartlist. It's impossible to edit a search criteria that's scrolled beyond the search bar's borders.

Nope...still doesn't update in tree.  Try it without a blank CD-R loaded (still says Compact Disc in tree).

Bummer....  I'm sure you had a good reason to change this back to non-sticky, but it would be helpful to all of us audio only users to understand.  Please fill us in - Thanks.

The warning says I can't get upset, so I'm not, but it does not say I can't ask questions....

Installing MC10 seems to have created problems using display plugins (anyone else had these problems-- or do I need to uninstall, wipe and reinstall?):

1. Trying to use 3D visualizations results in and "error starting 3D Visualizations (error creating Direct3D device)" flashing in the middle of the screen.

2. In other random circumstances that I can't duplicate now, attempting to select visualizations. 3D visualizations of Track Info has resulted in a dialog saying the applicable plug-in could not be created.

3. If I hit the Windows key instead of the Windows Menu key in an attempt to switch from Fullscreen to HS, when using the Track Info display plugin, when I then hit the (correct) Windows Menu key to switch to HS, a context menu from IE will pop up and the Track Info display stays up instead of switching to HS. (I'm pretty sure this is a bug.)

Hairstyle enhancements I'd like to see, in order of priority:

1. Abilility to exit MC from the main HS menu.

2. When selecting Audio from the HS main menu, I get a list of my view schemes as well as of all of my genres. I understand that in order to eliminate the the genres I need to eliminate all of the column in the view scheme. This seems like a kludge. Why do view schemes in HS behave this way. Note that to the extent that issue 3 is elegantly addressed, I suppose this becomes less of an issue.

3. I don't want to have some of my view schemes show up in Hairstyle. Is there a good way to accomplish this (i.e., other than just putting all those schemes in All Media)? For example, the scheme that shows all my OTR shows is useful for massive tagging changes, but really has no place in HS (I use a view scheme broken down by a tree of categories). Bottom line: I'd really like the ability to specify what view schemes show up in HS and what view schemes show up in MegaMe.

4. Is there a way to have MC launch and go directly to a submenu of HS (with the ability to go down to lower submenus from there but no up to higher submenus) with a command line parameter (or otherwise)? For example, I'd like to be able to launch MC and use it as a menu for playing audio files only sometimes, but other times I'd like to launch it and have it give access to only certain viewscheme's video files.

5. Any way to configure visualizations from within HS?

6. Shouldn't Display Options be moved from the Player menu to the View Menu?

7. Shouldn't HS skins appear in the Skin Manager.

Not sure why.  I liked it sticky.

Creating playlists from the AW is a little flaky...

If you have a view filtered down in the right panes then select Build Playlist and supply a name, the view resets to show all tracks.

If you try to build a second playlist from the AW without closing the AW's first playlist window using the up/down arrow button, the first playlist comes up again after you supply a new name for the second playlist.  If you build a second playlist this way, the first one should be automatically cleared out of the AW.

The only playlists I have are "recently played" and "top hits."

That's it.  No smartlists of any types, nada, nothing.

Also, My library completely disappeared.  I had to re-import all of my files (stupud me didn't backup the library).

Where did all of the smartlists go?  I reinstalled .30 and no improvement

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After playing around with it, Here are my issues...

-. Whenever you navigate from track to track, the Handheld icon in AW flashes.
-. PARTY MODE:  If your in PM and you turn off MC and then turn it back on, PM is not on... ... Would like to see absolutley no changes allowed in Party mode, Not even temperary... Or maybe an option.
-. Is there a function that clears playing now on exit? If not, can this be added?
-. I took a look at Winamp 5, you may want to take a look to see how they have there eq on the player. MC would benefit to that!
-. When scrolling everything blurs for a second.. Kinda annoying.
-. The SEARCH bar, this really is tooo small and in the wrong place.... Any chance that this can be moved back, or at least adjustable on the user side?
-. When you turn on MC, it would be nice if a screen came up asking you what library you wanted...
-. Would be nice if we could load songs into the Database from our handheld, and work like a HD... Play music back through MC while keeping the file on the handheld.
-. When you first select a track, (for the first time) it takes about 10 seconds and then goes to Buffering... This only happens with the first track.
-. I took a look at the burning part of MC and it really is cool, The only thing I would like to see changed is the ability to change the drive and wether it is a Audio or Data cd after the initial choice. I picked the wrong drive and had to start over, then picked the right dive but left it on Audio instead of Data... Took 3 tries, but I made my disk.
-. If you edit a view scheme or press f5 to refresh, You go back to Media Library... This is really annoying.-.

When Printing Files List On A Data CD On A Slim-Line

With 95 Files

There is plenty Of Room To Print More But The Program Reduces The Font Size Too Small And You Can't Read It.

From The Bottom Of The Text There Is About 2 Inches To The Bottom Of The CD Cover Print.

Action Window:

When I have my tree open and expanded a lot, this happens when I click on the Burn CD inside the AW:

Moving the mouse over it cause the Audio CD / Data CD drop down box to appear, but if I move the mouse away again, it disappears.

I'm assuming that's not the desired behavior.

Correction

Having the tree opened up wide doesn't cause this. Even when the tree is full closed I get the same behavior where the dropdown box doesn't stay visible.

Tab key still not working inside the quick search box to change focus to panes or list view, instead it produces ASCII characters and keeps focus on it.

Happens since the very first 10.0.x releases.

Thank you

Hairstyle Bugs:
1) Reshuffle does not update playing now until you leave and come back
2) Volume Up/Down do not work, but they do prevent further keyboard response for a few seconds each time you press enter
3) Pressing the down arrow and holding it in the playing now file list continues to queue up downs while scrolling.  MC can't scroll as fast as it queues up downs, so when you let up off the down arrow, you're stuck watching MC scroll the list for a while before you can do anything.  Please don't queue keystrokes while MC is busy scrolling.  I would expect MC to stop scrolling as soon as I let off the down arrow.

Wishes:
1) Coule Hairstyle please remember where you were at when you hit ESC to exit hairstyle back to MC?  It's really annoying to have to work your way back to where you were when you re-enter Hairstyle.
2) Could Backspace please go up a level like hitting the left arrow in the left list of buttons does (It took me a while to find that).  That would keep the cursor in the right list of buttons where I usually want to be when I'm trying to go up a level.

MC10 is causing the pc to freeze for up to 30 seconds when the last track on PN has finished.

It's being caused by the fadeout setting in Options/Playback. The length of the freeze is dependent on the length of the fadeout chosen.

I have noticed that the complete albums rule takes into acount case, when windows doesn't.
Some albums are being reported as incomplete due to differences
e.g
path\cd1\01 - track.mp3
path\cd1\02 - track.mp3
path\cd1\03 - track.mp3
path\cd1\04 - track.mp3
path\CD1\05 - track.mp3
path\cd1\06 - track.mp3
path\cd1\07 - track.mp3
path\cd1\08 - track.mp3
This would be reported as an incompleted album

Bug:
1. Old Download Manager (DM) bug...if you press Ctrl-V to paste a URL from the clipboard into DM, DM copies & adds the URL to the download list twice....thus, always prompting an error dialog (file already exists) when the second download attempts to start.  Using DM's Edit menu to Paste the same URL from the clipboard works fine (but, is not as easy/quick as just pressing Ctrl-V).

I agree completely and have been asking for this too.  I like to sit back a few feet from the screen and use my remote to cycle thru the modes.  When I return to Hairstyle, it's back to a menu instead of where I left off.  Works fine in 9.1, so has this been changed for a reason, or is it a bug?

Track info is sometimes not displaying images correctly.
To reproduce.
set AC is set to show an image, and playing now to show track info.
Click away from playing now, i.e on media library, then right click on media library and select play.
Now go to playing now, and there is a cross were the image should be in the track info pane.
Doesn't always do it.

Also no progress bar, in the action window or the device view.

Ctrl-del & shift-ins work great in the search box, thanks.

However shift-del doesn't cut, only deletes (ie I 'cut' something with shift-del and paste with shift-ins and get some old clipboard text).

Also in the search box... if you click in it somewhere so there's a cursor, then hold down shift and click somewhere else in it, it doesn't select the text in between as one expects it would.

Desired Changes:  at the present time, if you go to "artist information" to check on the song playing, if you want to go back to the album/artist main window, your are back at the top of the window (and have to navigate back to the album you are listening to).

I would like to see the "artis information" in a separate window so that you can go back and forth between the "artist information" and the list of songs on the particular album you are listening to.

The search bar still too small making it from one of the best features to one of the worse and most needed.

I think there is plenty of space to put it back, e.g.: the top position bar is huuuuge so it could be shrunken no? Or well, what about the bottom status bar which for me has no use at all? We need back a proper search bar, very nice the new scrolling panes but can't be compared to a quick typing to filter over 12000 mp3's, scrolling panes is just too slow and tedious when I want to find what I want. :(

Since version 10.0.23 MC has the ability to import tag info from AAC files. But it will not import the files themselves - still. Is this gonna be a play from Explorer deal the whole way through with this? Or do you guys plan on actually getting MC to deal with AAC files in a happy, user friendly way?

Would be nice to get these types of files ironed out with MC. AAC (MP4/M4A) are here to stay and will soon be very popular. I have full intentions of buying an AAC capable player within a few weeks. It would be nice if MC was handling this format as well as mp3's.

I had Media Center in the Start screen.  I typed my search parameter in the Search box.  As far as I can tell nothing happens.  If I switch over to Media Library view by selecting from the left tree it doesn't remember the search.  If I try to search from the START screen and under the search box then pick AUDIO it still does nothing but switch to all my audio files.  Get rid of SEARCH box with this start screen if it's not supposed to do something!

I noticed others already posted re: problems with burn window.  I need to see how much space is left when adding files.  Actually had trouble figuring out if the files I wanted to burn were actually selected and moved.  Says to drag here but when you do there is no indication it went.  Also choosing between audio or data format was awkward also....maybe just timing of when it's asked and ability to tell if what you choose is actually happening.

Still missing the recursive folder view in My Computer. This is a pretty key feature for my music "workflow" and it is the main reason why I haven't moved to MC10.

Machinehead - when importing, click on the advanced button, then put a check in the box for aac files.  Then it will know to import the m4p files from iTunes.

MC crashes systematically .

It happens after a minute or two, even if there's nothing playing. (same for builds .27 and .28)
I had no Problem with 10.0.15 (before expiration on 4 Jan.) and have no problem if I use 9.1.316
