It's working for me on XP Home.  Try reinstalling the software that came with the drive.

If that doesn't do it, please email me and I'll send you a playback engine with diagnostic messages in it to narrow down where the crash is occurring.

Thanks,

Also, please verify that you can play the DVD in Windows Media Player. I just want to rule out corrupted or missing mpeg2 decoder filters.

Thanks.

New info:  Popped in another DVD and MC will play it...put in the old one (from yesterday) and MC crashed everytime...I guess MC just doesn't like playing back all DVDs (no worries).

And...yep, WMP crashes as well with that particular DVD...I'll just use one of the other three DVD players I have (do anyways).

I just found your email in the folder that my email program routes spam to. Not sure why it thought it was spam!? It said there was a 99 to 100% chance that it was spam.

If it crashes in WMP, I'm not sure it's worth pursuing with a diagnostic version. We basically use the same DirectX filters that they use. If you find more DVD's that it crashes on, please give us a title and we can try it here.

Thanks for the troubleshooting.
