all other players able to do that except MC?
« on: January 21, 2005, 02:52:15 pm »

Hi,
Long time back I tried MC, but had recurrent problems with importing and adding new files to the database. Eventually I gave up.

With some rekindled interest I tried again the 173version in a new computer. This time, it doesn't recognize any mp3 files at all. Just hangs up trying to look for files in folders. I tried pointing to a small folder etc, nothing worked.

TRied musicmatch, Winamp and sonique--it all worked like a charm. Why MC is unable to do this? and hangs up with my files?

Man, i love this program, b cos of this problem, I am unable to buy it.

any suggestions?

Are your files local?  On the same PC?

Can you rip a CD and encode as MP3, using MC?

What is the source of the files?

Sorry for the late reply. Bracing for the snowstorm.
YEs all files are in local drive (C).

I did not try to rip a CD.

all are mp3 files atleast 128 kbps encoded.

Strange thing is V11 (alpha) worked and it recognized. but not v10 (173).

I guess it will be hard to troubleshoot cos I cannot send all mp3 files for analysis. I am wondering how you would be able to tackle such problems like mine.
