These are the various parts of the screen. This help file has specific sections for most of the screen items. This image may not look like what you see on your screen for three reasons:

The reasons are not explained. I think it could simply be something like this:

File Properties (tags) > File Types and Tags > Audio Files

Quote
The following audio file types can save all tags (id3v1 and v2):

mp3, ogg, wma, ape, mpc

- ID3 tags are not used with the oqq, wma, ape and mpc file types.

Hey Alex,

Thanks for starting this thread. Sadly there aren't too many participants. Oh well.
The final version is being completed right now.

I just wanted to mention something about your last post.  I'm thinking of perhaps leaving the tagging info as is. I don't want to get to technical in the help file, and when I wrote that section, I believe I had this in mind, from http://www.id3.org/intro.html:

Quote
ID3.org receives one frequent question in various forms:

What is the tagging format in my Windows Media File?
What is the tagging format in my iTunes file?
What is the tagging format in my ogg vorbis file?
Answer? All audio formats can, and most probably do, use the ID3 tag format. They do this because the ID3 tag standard is so wide spread and implementation libraries are readily available.

Those new to digital music may assume that only MP3 files have ID3 tags and that other audio formats (AAC, WMA, Ogg Vorbis, etc..) must therefore have some different tagging methodolgy. This confusion comes from ID3 being so closely associated to the MP3 audio compression format. The ID3 tagging standard gained wide acceptance because of the popularity of the MP3 file format and became the defacto standard way to tag audio files of any format.

ID3 is simply a prescribed method for storing information into a file, any file, but usually an audio file.

Hi Lise,
RemoteServer isn't mentioned in the Help.

RemoteServer runs a web server that can be used to control MC from another device running a web browser.  This allows a "ten foot" experience so you can control MC from across the room.  It is configured under MC Options for Startup.   The standard port used is 80, the default port for a web server.

John, I did a search on ~mix and came up blank. What does it do? Can you give me an example?

MC 11: New Mix Smartlist Rule. contains basic usage examples.

a quite complex, but highly useable example, extremely well presented.

Marko,

Well if that don't beat all. And just yesterday I posted the following:

Hmmm. A smartlist I had doesn't seem to work anymore.
Basically, it was a mix : 50% Rated 4,5, and 50% unrated.
To troubleshoot, I changed the limits from percentages to number of tracks.

I tried:
Media type: audio, Source: emusic and now for the good part:

Code: [Select]
([Rating]=>3 ~n=50 and [Rating]=>1 ~n=50)Also tried adding brackets around each before and after "and"
Code: [Select]
(([Rating]=>3 ~n=50) and ([Rating]=>1 ~n=50))Neither works.

Any takers?

Thanks!

How do you think I figured out that it wasn't documented? :)

MC uses always:

Ogg Vorbis (ogg) -  Vorbis comments
Windows Media Audio (wma) - native Windows Media tagging system
Monkeys's Audio (ape) and Musepack (mpc) - APE v.2 tags

more of an omission than an error.

In the keyboard shortcut table, ctrl + z performs 'undo'

As the undo/redo commands only apply to tag changes, I think this should be reflected in the help file.
