Data Master Issue (Bad Data)
« on: February 28, 2007, 10:54:53 pm »

Did an update tonight.  I noticed that anytime there should have been no data - user name = michel and the data "37257" would get entered.  I think you may have another corruption issue.  I'll leave the bad data for now, if you need to know some file names.

since i have no idea of what your talking about (Field, User File Name, Artist, Album, Name Etc...). And That Data Does Not Look Corrupt.

I Would Have No Clue.

Note If That Is A Date Or Time Field It May Be Correct, It Is Calculated From A Point In History.

You Can Overwrite Any Data That Is Yours.

There Are Some Fields That Users Search For A Or Submit Data To, And I Have No Clue Why They Do That. Some Of Them Seem Kind Of Point Less Since MC Updates Some Of The Fields Each Time A User Plays It.

It Leaves Me Scraching My Head, Sometimes.

I Do Think My C: Drive (System) Is Going Down. I hate It When That Happens.

I think the next time i get a computer, i will get a system with A raid boot drive. I hate needing to load this stuff (programs all back on the computer) and maybe losing other data (like e-mails)

The specific one that caused me to check was the sound track to the movie holes.  I accidently let it be included in the check for chartdata and lyrics.

Well, Today They (RR) Changed Out The Modem

And the ftp server Still Does Not Work

I think It Is Day 5 Now With Sporadic Upload, Today Sporadic Download
rates.

Apparently There Is About 5% packet Loss

Also There Was Some Ref To "Noise On The Line".

Testing At The Pole With The Techs Laptop Renders The Same Results, So The
Problem Is Not My Computer, My Cables, My Ethernet Card, My Router, Road Runners
Modem, The Cable To The House.

The Head-In Tech (I Guess That Is Some Tech Lingo) Said It Was Not The Head-In (What Ever That Is, I Think It Is At The Node).

I Think Two Tin Cans Might Be Better Right Now.

Very Disappointed That The Modem Did Not Fix The Problem, And Now Being It
Is The Weekend I Am Sure Not Much More Will Be Done To Fix This Issue.

I Was Hoping Someone At Road Runner Would Escalate This Problem And Maybe Not Only Fix
This For Me But For Other Road Runner Customers That Are Feed From The Same Node.

I Did Buy A New Raid Hard Drive Today From Buy.Com, It Is 2 Terabytes.

Get his home phone number.

If you offer him a free Data Master, we'll do the same.

You never know.

I Had Him Running Lines, Fiber, Equipment for the past 5 days...

Along With His Other Work.

He Was From Road Runners Business Class Department.

I Have His Cell Phone Number, And He Is Going To Call Me Tomorrow. I Am Thinking About Writing A Letter To The Company.

I Already Sent Off A E-Mail To His Department To Thank Him.

Right Now I Am Getting About 220 KBytes Upload (Download For Users) Not Bad...

I just wiped the bad data from the other day.  I tried again accidently on purpose this time.  The chartdata and the lyrics stayed empty this time.  It smoked too, very fast.

BTW, did the wind get bad over there?  We lost power for 2 hours shortly after midnight (friday am).  With what happened in Alabama and Georgia, I stayed up all night and watched the radar from wral tv 5 .  I saw what looked like a bad cell go through your area just before dawn.

Yes, windy and rainy

I Woke Up (2 am) So I Figured I Would Test It Out.

FTP Server Still Working Good (Yeah!)

The Problem He Found Was In "Eastover, NC" I Live In "Stedman, NC", Eastover Is Between Fayetteville, NC And Stedman, NC

Stedman, NC Was A 1-Each Blinking Light Town, Now We Acually Have A Stop Light Now, So We Can Aford To Keep The Blinking Light On Steady, They Even Added A Color "Green" To It.

Me And Sue Are Planing A Trip To See The Light Houses, And Write Brothers (Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills) Etc...

I Reserved Rooms For The Nights Of 2nd And 3rd Of May Hotel: Days Inn Kill Devil Hills Oceanfront - Wilbur ($79+ tax etc...) It Is Still The Off Season I Think For This Area So The Price Was Not Bad.

I Was Told I Should Leave A Tip, I guess This Is For The Lady Who Takes Care Of The Room. Do I Leave A Tip Every Day Or At Check Out, And How Much Should A Tip Be?

I Don't Get Out Much....

AnyOne Have Any Other Tips?

I stayed at a very upscale hotel in boston when visiting progress software.  It was very cold and i got sick while there.  Had to lay up one day.  The maid went and got ice for me and came back a couple times during the day to check on me.  I talked to the cfo at progress and he told me to leave it with the manager at the front desk.  He said the staff is not allowed to remove anything from the room except hotel property, even if I left and evelope with house keeping on it.  The reason being it could be for somewhere else.  Speaking to the manager also reflects well on the staff person.
