I am running a home network with one MC14 running on a headless media server running Windows XP Pro. It has two 192.168.x.x addressed network connections (one gigE the other 10/100M ethernet.)
I have 6 client machines running various operating systems (W2K, Vista Home basic, Vista Home Premium, XP Pro, XP Home) on GigE, 10/100M and 802.11 wireless connections to the media server. All of the clients are running exclusively as MC14 clients. The clients have no local library's nor local media files. The start up MC14 and "search for library servers". All of the clients find the MC14 acting as a server just fine.
My problem is that my one XP Home and one Vista Home Basic machines can see the library server and play music just fine. However, if I create a playlist on those machines and then goto "File -> Library -> Library sync..." MC14 searches for changes, updates the library, but the changes are NOT saved. No error messages are generated, but the search and update process DOES seem to take a minute or two longer then from my other machines.
Both XP Home and Vista Home Basic machines are connected via wireless. But one of my W2k machines is also wireless and works fine. I have tried running MC14 as administrator, but that has not helped.
Does anyone know why XP Home and Vista Home Basic does not like "library sync...." or can anyone think of some other reason why these machines are having a problem?
