Dacal Powerdrive
« on: July 29, 2009, 04:00:00 pm »

Guys,

Is there any plan to support the Dacal Powerdrive DC-016 http://www.dacal.com.tw/product4.html

This way I can load it up with up to 100 CD's and then let MC rip away to it's hearts content.

Is there no way this could be supported Matt. I have loads of discs I would love to re-rip. If not are there any coders that could make a plugin.

Cheers,

Media Center can auto-rip on insert / eject, so the carousel could just wait for an eject command and move on to the next disc.

All Media Center cares is that the disc shows up like a regular drive.

This would likely require a feature in the carousel software, but it might already be there?

Cheers Matt for the quick reply.

The problem I have is that the normal Eject command is blocked by the unit. The API has it's own. All I am looking for is a way where I can load it up with say 60 or 70 discs and then when I go into the RIP disk option and select the drive as the DACAL MC14 detects that it is a carousel and will ask for the Start and End disk number. Then the unit will load the disc and as you said MC14 will auto start to rip. After the disk MC14 would need to issue the EJECT disk then tell the unit to change disk and load the disk. Once the disk is loaded MC14 would again auto start ripping.

I have around 4000 CD's to rerip onto my Windows Home Server and doing it manually would be a pain. There is an API freely available but I dont program  :'(. I would be prepared to pay for this option.
