Hi,
I have used MC17 for a couple of months now and I am now starting to spend a little time on the setup and how to do things smarter.
I only use MC17 for audio - not video or other of its features.
My setup are as follows:
MC17 is installed on a Samsung Series9 laptop (Windows 7). The audio goes to my dac (Ayre QB9) via USB - bitperfect.
ALL audio files are located on a network server which runs Windows 7.
MC17 is auto-importing all audio files via a normal network share on the server: \\server\musicfolder
I use Gizmo on my Android phone to control MC17.
I have configured the Samsung laptop to sleep after 30 minutes - WOL from Gizmo works perfectly.
My server is also configured to sleep after 30 minutes of inactivity.
Up until now I have manually waked up my server by sending a magic packet from my phone before using Gizmo to control MC17.
But is it possible for MC17 to send a magic packet to my server when Gizmo wakes up the laptop? In this way I don't need to manually send a magic packet from my phone, instead Gizmo wakes up the laptop which then wakes up the server...
I have searched the forum for an answer but haven't found anything - perhaps my English skills prevents me from doing a search on the correct keywords ?
Also I am wondering if my setup is the smartest - perhaps i should install MC17 on the server also and set this up as a library server. And then use MC17 on the laptop just to stream the audio from the server.
Would this be the "correct way" and would it solve my problem regarding the automatic WOL of the server?
Thanks in advance and sorry if my question is answered elsewhere
Best regards
Michael
