JRSS Mixing and 8 Channels [solved]
« on: June 22, 2013, 07:38:54 am »

Hello,

I need 8 channels output, but want JRSS to upmix to just 5.1. Is this possible?
The reason I need this:
I've got a 5.1 Setup + an IBEAM that needs seperate EQing and in the future I'll upgrade to an Double Bass Array, which needs two seperate, delayed outputs.
So I want to have JRiver giving me 5.1 as usual and then being able to route to two additional channels in the parametric EQ section.
My Problem: If I select 5.1 I see no option to output more channels, if I select 7.1 (I assume that) the JRSS mixing matrix is different from the 5.1 one and with 10+ channels it seems to behave the same.

Thanks in advance

Use 5.1 channels (in 7.1 channel container)?
In theory that should output 6 channels with 2 silent ones added.

Thanks,
that was it. I must have overlooked that option.
Just for the Records: JRiver puts the rear channels before the side channels, so I had to change the order.

I agree it's a little weird, but that's the standard channel ordering with 7.1.
