MC20 Television changing channels
« on: September 05, 2014, 01:42:25 pm »

I'm not sure if this is a problem, but it seems like it should work.  I am trying to change the channel in television with MCWS but nothing happens.

This is what I am sending:
http://localhost:52199/MCWS/v1/Television/PlayChannel?Channel=428&Zone=-1&ZoneType=ID

This is my return value:
<Response Status="OK"/>

Can anyone tell me if this works?

No this does not work.  It is not meant to be used this way.

This is used by an MC client to ask the server to start buffering data on a given channel.  The client needs to make a couple of more calls to obtain other info, such as a jtv file, and then play the jtv file inside the playback engine.

By making this single MCWS call, you started your server running on a TV tuner, and the server will run it forever.

What if you PlayByFilename and use "TV Channel DTV 35 (5-1) (ATSC).tvlb"?

I just tried and it worked for me.

Thanks Yaobing for your response. I was just trying to change channels without having to use the guide.

Matt, I will look into your suggestion and see if I can get results.

Matt. Just wanted to let you know that your solution worked perfectly. Thanks for your help.

I also wanted to let the whole JRiver team know the more I use and learn the program the more impressed with it I get.
Thanks to all.
