11. Changed: Updated German translation (thanks Bytestar).
12. Changed: Change 9 of previous build is modified as follows: If user has specified a time to automatically refresh television programming guide, MC will refresh the guide on or after the specified time, or 20 minutes after any previous runs, whichever is later.  The 20 minutes wait is needed because some background loading can take as much as 20 minutes to complete.

10. Changed: Added television subscription recording option to search "All channels" for a given program, instead of just on specified channels.
11. Changed: Updated Chinese language files (thanks kelijun).
12. Changed: Television EPG wizard pages are re-organized so that automatic daily reload option is presented before the actual loading of data, and one can choose to skip loading data (only to configure auto loading options).
13. Fixed: Double-clicking at the end of the line in a chart would crash.
14. Changed: The Tag Action Window 'Show Tags In Current View' works a little better (you might need to customize visible fields once for the change to take effect).

20.0.16 (9/15/2014)

2. Changed: The codec names used for the "Compression" field in video files are more consistent.
3. Changed: Options > General > Popup transparency mode also disables transparency for menus and tooltips if selected.
4. Fixed: CD burning was failing with error "Can't start the write.".
5. Fixed: Volume protection would override the startup volume setting.  Now startup volume has precedence.

<NEW: Scrollbars enlarge on mouse over (optional in Options > Tree & View > List > Enlarge scrollbars on mouse over).>

Oh man that's very cool.  I'll have to upgrade to MC20 tonight and try this out.

*edit:  just tried it and this first iteration is a really good one, big thanks!

Q:  will there be some extra options, like animation quality of pop out - smoothing etc, width control.

Now, if we just had that right click slideshow based of the currently playing albums folder (with options for sub folders - /art/images/coverart), and with the option of the rotated reflection effect (with quality setting).  All on the right click context menu when right clicking over the cover image (standard view).  A cover art slideshow from the currently playing album folder - rotated reflection effect...  life would be perfect :)

6. Changed: Adding files to Playing Now won't trigger a ZoneSwitch rule to stop playback in the other zones.
This is great! But all the other add commands in More Play Options are still interrupting playback.
Obviously "Add (play now)" should, but probably not the rest.

And if Tools → Options → General → Behavior → Start playing when files added to Playing Now is enabled (normally I have it disabled) Zone Switch is no longer triggered at all, and it tries to play in both zones at once.

This obviously conflicts and results in each zone constantly stopping and starting playback until the stop command finally "catches" one of them.

2. NEW: Scrollbars enlarge on mouse over (optional in Options > Tree & View > List > Enlarge scrollbars on mouse over).
This gave me a UAC prompt for some reason, and I had to restart MC for it to take effect.

Edit: The UAC prompt only appeared the first time I selected this option. I still need to restart the program when changing this setting though.

8. Changed: Modified DirectShow graph-building for "WinTV 885 Video Capture" device in an attempt to fix the analog cable television problem with "Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1250 PCIe" card.

Can we assume that there are no problems with the digital TV use of "Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1250 PCIe" ?

I ask because that is the one I have !

The problem was specifically for analog TV.

Starting with the update before 30 (27?) the WDM driver, which was working perfectly here, stutters significantly on system generated sounds, may or may not play them at all if short, but behaves generally well if playing from a browser (using default device) except for a little stutter occasionally.  It seems a little worse on 30, but the character is the same.

It seems to be best at 5 to 10msec output driver delay (Wasapi Exclusive).  Generates doublets or sub-harmonics if you use minimum hardware delay, but plays without stutter then.  Taking it up to 500msec doesn't make much difference.

I was sampling everything up to 96k when it was working correctly (no stutters), but now it's somewhat better at 44k.

Convolution is normally enabled but it doesn't matter whether that is enabled or not.

There is a 'wdm' player zone defined, and it is currently associated with a playback device different from the standard audio player zone.  They both work independently even though there is a zoneswitch definition that should switch off audio or video playback in favor of wdm, and vice versa, which I believe used to work correctly.  The trigger is [Filename]=[live:////ipc".  Has that changed?

I've had no issue with the wide scrollbars.  I did have to restart MC to enable them, but that's fine.

Playback is still starting at 20% with Volume Protection enabled, even though startup volume is set to 50%.

Even though ripping speed is set to 1x it's increasing up to 9x - looks like setting's ignored...

That setting only maybe works.  We tell the drive a maximum read speed, but it does whatever it wants with that setting.  However, there's no good reason to use less than full speed anyway.

Perhaps this setting is useless if using a drive w/ secure rip support. My impression is that the ripping process w/ older drives could benefit from lower speed.
Can you elaborate how secure rip is implemented in MC (just in general)?

Thx

If you're using Secure Ripping, you should just use the fastest speed available to you.
You would only try a slower speed if you're getting errors in the rip.

It reads every chunk twice and compares them.  It uses big enough chunks to overcome buffering.  At the end of the rip, it presents a nice report.

The latest version installed a MC-specific audio driver.  My Microsoft Surface Pro 2 audio is now messed up.  The new driver apparently likes to grab default-status at all times.  Used to be when I plugged in my headphones, or turned on my Bluetooth speakers, audio was automatically rerouted.  Now it stays put on the JRiver driver, regardless of whether MC is running or not. I disabled the new driver, it no longer appears, but the audio-not-rerouting-automatically effect lingers.
