How would I add this live streaming German TV channel:

http://daserste_live-lh.akamaihd.net/i/daserste_de@91204/master.m3u8

to MC so that I can use it in a playlist with other similar streaming channels?
Or add it to the library so that it can be use anywhere?

Try playing it, then right click on it in Playing Now and save it to a playlist.

Well, playing it is actually the problem! It won't play at all, no matter what I do.

The free "Media Player Classic" can play it back. So there must be a way for MC to play it, too?

Well, actually MPC can only play it when it is already in a playlist (m3u) but the SAME playlist won't import into MC.

To try it out please copy this snippet:

into a file called "test.m3u".

Then try to play the file with the freeware Media Player Classic -> It works. All streams are selectable and play well.
Try it with MC -> An external web browser opens unexpectedly and it won't do anything good.

Well, either MC is missing some features here or I simply don't know how to play these streams correctly...

Windows Media Player does also play back the m3u...

Edit 2 to add:
When I OPEN the file (instead of drag + drop - which I did!) then it works... ok!

Final Edit:
Only one of the two streams plays in MC. MPC can play both.
