move together and consolidate two big music databases
« on: September 05, 2016, 08:57:01 am »

Dear my friends, I would really need help from some skilled guys here.
A friend of mine has a very nice music library, with around 60.000 files.
I have a similar library with around 65.000 files.

So now the tricky thing:
How to move both together without getting thousands of duplicates?
Not all files have the exact same name (as usual) but they are the same music files – even more tricky.

Does somebody have a clue, advice, idea or still a process how to solve this problem out?

Otherwise I get a lifetime work to build up a clear and perfect database.

Many thanks for your help in advance

more info needed....

are all the files the same type?

for same music different names I would use auto look up on both collections and see if it clears that up, if not find a program that will

then I would use a sync program to merge the collections into one

I'm sorry but I'm going to close this thread.  Sharing music files is not a topic we allow.
