Hello - Running MC 21.0.90.  I've had my HTPC in storage for a bit as I transitioned to a new home.  Everything worked fine in the old home and no changes have been made to the HTPC but now when I try to use Live TV in Theater View I see something like "No Items to Display."  When I attempt to setup TV under the Options > Television menu I see the above referenced tuner, select it [ATSC - OTA Antenna - US] as the device to be used for scans and start setup.  That's where everything stops.  MC hangs indefinitely until I kill it with Task Manager.  At the same time Windows MC has no problem with Live TV.  Any help is appreciated.

If you moved, make sure the card is seated well. It may have come loose during the move.

Does any other software work with the tuner?

Yes.  Windows Media Center Live TV works fine with the card as does Win TV 7 from Hauppauge.

There have been reports that when Users have other Tuner software installed (such as Windows Media Center) the other programs won't "release" the Tuner when they are done with it, then the JRiver program can't access it. You should uninstall Windows MC and then run the JRiver setup again.

Hello friends

I have exactly the same issue but I'm using windows 10 and PCTV T2 stick.

I get to the point when I press scan and it just locks up and I have to shut down with task manager.

21.09 is old.  Maybe you mean 21.0.90.

Did you install a driver?  Does the device work with any software on the machine?

I might have forgotten to reply to OP about the findings in the log files.

I saw in the Previous Log.txt that you tried to scan for EPG.  EPG scanning in MC21 is slow and spotty.  There was no indication of hanging except that it was still scanning when you stopped it.  Maybe you just did not wait long enough?  Also, canceling OTA EPG scanning in MC21 did not work well.  So you will have to wait for a long time until it finishes.

There has been some great improvement in OTA EPG scanning in recent builds of MC22.  It is now much faster and more complete, and easy to cancel.

By the way, initially I thought you were talking about channel scanning as the title of your post suggests.  After looking through your logs, I found only EPG scanning.

Thanks for offering to help....when I set log a dialog box came up and asked for a transmitter....I put it in and it worked.     ..... So thanks for all your help....easy as that!!
