Why can't dsd work after configuring it with ASIO without having to tweek all the settings?
First i was getting stuttering and i changed several things and it is no longer stuttering, but i don't know what i did to fix it...i know i changed abourt 4 or 5 settings including to "play from memory" and set buffer to 20 seconds instead of default 6...i don't remember what else i changed, but there were a few other settings...anyway...now it is not stuttering, but i have another problem.
I see on my TEAC NT501 that it is playing in PCM. I want native DSD.
i remember changing a few other configurations which i thought would make it play DSD natively, but i see an error that says "not using enough bits" and i read some people say that is because my dac won't support it, but i am trying to play a dff 352K i think it said, and i know my dac will do 512k (4X DSD)...so i don't know whats up?
SO my questions are:
1. Why can the authors make DSD work without all the tweeking
2. What do i need to do in my particular case in the short term to get native dsd to work now until the authors can figure out how to make DSD work out of the box in native mode without all the configuration changes necessary..... Other players can play dsd right out of the box without having to jump through hoops, so why can't JRiver?
