MC 22 stopped working for me

Hi
I have MC 22 on my 64bit Win7 laptop.
Since MC updated itself yesterday, when I try to start it I get the error message:-
"Media Center was installed for a different operating  system.
Please reinstall Media Center."

I've tried uninstalling, downloading again and reinstalling but still get the error.
I've also tried Windows' Program Compatibility troubleshooting options.
Please help!

This can occur when Windows has had a significant upgrade (eg a Windows 10 incremental version upgrade). It's normally fixed by installing MC over the top of itself. In that case there's no need to uninstall or use the program compatibility settings. . .

Do you think this is what you've experienced or has something else happened?

No, I've not had any Windows updates, just MC.
I don't think anything else has happened.....

I still have MC 21 on the laptop and that's working fine.

Just reinstall MC22.  Make sure the installer isn't running in a compatibility mode or else that will lie about the OS.

I don't know what had happened but I've managed to get it working again now.
