UHD/HDR/3D Setup
tij:
if automatic switching of 3d is not what you after ... do not need to restart computer ... just do what TheShoe does ... when want to watch 3D, just go to NVIDIA setting and turn 3D on manually ... when finish watching 3D ... just switch it off (so that your 2D movies continue to work)
rec head:
I'll try again but I needed to restart.

on occasion, when I am done playing back a 4K+HDR video, JRiver/madVR loses video to the TV. I have to remote desktop into the PC and have it change something simple like 60 to 23Hz or resolution at which point it restores video output to the TV. I also notice that font sizes seem off (smaller). it's as if once the player stops it's not restoring the video back to what it was prior to playback.
I'm also sticking with the 385.69 nVidia drivers. so far they seem to be the most stable for this setup.

I am seeing this too. I was worried that it was my new TV that was the issue, but it seems like it might be the drivers. I am on the latest version 397.93

Thanks for this post was having similar issues.
I also had to change Hardware Accelerate video decoding too in JRiver as it was thrashing the CPU.
I guess it's using the Graphics Card now as it should.
