JRiver24 on ID: Settings for AFI USB Reclocker
« on: May 14, 2018, 02:03:23 am »

JRiverID may profit positively from downstream HF isolation and precision reclocking by AFI USB.

These settings work very fine:

Use the yellow front USB plug of your ID

Audio Device front:CARD=J20, DEV=0 (ALSA)

PCM format: automatic
Buffer 25000
Period 100000

The clock of the computer has nothing to do with the clock of your DAC.   Please don't use this forum to spread this kind of mis-information.

The clock of the computer has nothing to do with the clock of your DAC...

Of course , these are separate clocks. Both may effect sound quality:

The computers (IDs) clock stability affects timing variations (jitter) in the embedded clock signal (SPDIF).
These timing variations are carried on to the DAC.
DACs clock (and PPL) have to cope with these imperfections. Some DACs do this better than others.

The beneficial effects of reclocking & galvanic isolation
between computer and DAC have been reported extensively elsewhere.
If in doubt, try one in your system. (many vendors offer demo units or trial periods).

My JriverIDs sonic performance was taken to another level with the reclocker,,,,,

Best
