License issues
JimH:
The server was attacked and is offline temporarily. Please try again tomorrow or contact deanna at jriver. com.
I apologize for the problem.
Awesome Donkey:
The server downtime aside, the registration didn't get lost for me after doing a kernel update a few days ago with Debian Stretch (or any of my other Linux distro installs) and MC 24.0.46 beta. If you're using MC 24.0.28 or older, this issue will still occur until the beta build is promoted to the latest (and eventually stable) channels.
If indeed you are using MC 24.0.28 or older, I'd recommend updating to the 24.0.46 beta build. It has fixes in place for the registration being lost after a kernel update. Plus in my own testing it's actually pretty stable for a beta.
scrutinizer:
A license that keeps getting lost is a pretty major bug since it basically renders the program unusable over & over again at random times and our ability to recover is limited both technically, being dependent on a certain server, and in the number of times you're allowed to restore.
If there's a build that has this issue fixed, it should be moved to Latest immediately.
JimH:
It happened between two versions, and it happened twice. As far as I know, it isn't a problem any longer.
scrutinizer:
I'm using the build from the Latest repo (24.0.28) and it just happened again after the recent kernel update on debian stretch.
