Just for you because you didn't get any burgers.

It has not had much testing.  All we know is what Brad found, just after it was built:

"I was able to test it as a renderer and it does work. It's pretty cool because now it will support DACs connected to the Shield. I have it playing through the Sanskrit pro DAC right now."

This build is the first that will play to my phone (Note 9) as a renderer!

Cool!

Also, perhaps totally random, but the stuttering is almost gone (and I didn't change battery optimization settings, they were already set).  I do still hear some smaller hiccups in the sound that shouldn't be there, but it's less frequent.

Edit: That was false hope.  Fired it up this morning and the behavior is the same.  I'll start a separate thread for this.  Thanks!

Sorry, I'm new to using MC as a "handheld" and have always just used my phone as a remote. On my Pixel 3 I have MC 24.0.10. It does not seem to play FLAC and it took me a while to figure out how to set things up so that MC on the PC would convert files to MP3 when transferring to the phone. I looked through the wiki and there is no "Sync Handheld" topic.

Anyway, I was using Windows Explorer to delete the FLAC files I kept copying to my phone as I figured out how to setup conversion. After a couple rounds of this MC on Android is not updating its library. I can only see the old FLAC's that won't play even though they are no longer on the device according to Windows Explorer and Android Files. The new mp3's are not showing up. I have quit MC several times and restarted the phone. No luck.

It should play FLACs.  Under the settings/ gear icon, do you have the main tab set to Player?

I too had the issue where deleted files weren't going away.  I was in the middle of troubleshooting something else, so I didn't worry too much about it, but you can go to the app info and delete the cache/ data and the next time you open JRiver it'll rebuild the library with only the files that are there.  I'm not sure if the library maintenance functions to auto-remove missing files is supposed to be there or not at this stage, but it does seem to at least be slow if it is.

You're right. Switching to Player plays FLAC, I think. Problem is still that the library is messed up and I can't figure out how to get it to re-scan.

edit: I uninstalled and reinstalled. All of the deleted songs are gone but now it isn't finding all the songs I do have. I have 3 songs on the phone and 1 isn't found. If I go to to the Files app the song is in the same folder as the others and will play.

The version on the play store currently still shows as not compatible with my Shield and my Sony Android TV..

I just tried to install to my Shield from the Play store and it tells me it is incompatible.

edit: seems like we both tried at the same time.

Sorry to keep lumping on but I actually have a little time to play with this. I think this is more of a Panel issue but using the Back button on my phone takes me out of the app instead of to the previous screen.

I agree and Brad knows about it.  For now, use the other back arrow in the app itself.
