Hi everyone,
First off, congrats on a great release and a fine product.
I've had one niggling problem for awhile now -- when I double-click on an .mpg file (MPEG video) in Explorer, I get a dialog saying "Error restoring Media Center license: Invalid File Type [c:\media\videoa.mpg".
If I open the file using Media Center, it will play. If I drag the file from Explorer to Media Center's play list, it will work ok as well.
On further investigation, this message is not coming from Media Center, but from MJEXTMAN. (Media Center only loads after I click OK on this dialog)
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Media Center. I'm running the latest version (171).
I've done a search for MJEXTMAN on my system -- two copies exist. One in the application directory and one in the system32 directory. Both are dated April 10, 2003 and carry a version label of 1.0.18.0.
I've also noticed that if I right-click on the file in Explorer and go to the MEdia Center portion of the context menu and select "play", it works fine. Same thing if I right-click and say "Open With" and Media Center. It seems like it is just the double-click action that isn't working.
Is there something else I should be looking for? Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jonathan
