A new update for JRemote2 is on its way. It was released on the Play Store minutes ago, and should make its way to everyone's devices soon.
With Media Center 27, we can now make use of a
new video streaming mode both for streaming to the remote (optional, disabled by default for now), and ChromeCast (always on with MC27) which is more reliable and should better recover from network glitches on the move.
Other key improvements include native support for ALAC playback, both from MC itself and CloudPlay, and the addition of system management controls for restart or shutting down the server (requires authentication).
Additionally, the way the playback mode is configured was unified. The option is now always in the "kebab" menu on the top right, with proper labels to identify them, as well as remembering it per-view, which should help with the differences between video (often single file playback) and audio usage (album/playlist playback).

9. Changed: In local playback, the "Previous" button behaves in a CD-player style, returning to the beginning of the track on a single click, and to the previous track on double click or when near the beginning.
10. Changed: Increased the height of the video seekbar touch area for better control.
