1. Changed: Updated LAV Filters to 0.75.1, used in video playback, many fixes and much improved AV1 video support.

3. NEW: Added s-curve modes to the cross-fade options (instead of piggy backing).  You can pick standard (in and out) or aggressive (which only fades out).

1. Changed: VST plugins could cause latency because of the new buffer delivery system.  Now it uses smaller buffers.
2. Fixed: Library backups could not include thumbnails because some code was commented out in release.

4. NEW: Tag() expression function will return any image XMP tags that are not JRiver database fields, for example, Tag(XMP: Label).  Also, Tag(EXIF: Make) and Tag(EXIF: Model) will return make and mode of the camera, individually (whereas [Camera] returns a combination of the two as before).
5. Changed: Diverting to a DLNA zone will issue a seek (since bookmarking is not supported) to retain the playback position.

1. NEW: Tabs support dragging to re-order (and dragging also takes the views so you can drag a tab to Playing Now to play, etc.).
2. Changed: Made restoring a library and settings faster (doesn't decompress twice any longer).

3. NEW: IPTV Support in TV engine.  Live streaming now, no time-shifting or recording yet.  May not work for all URLs.
4. NEW: Support for Canon .CR3 raw image format.

1. Fixed: The context menu on Playing Now "Track Info" was not accessible with the Edge integrated browser.
2. Fixed: FLAC file playback could crash in 28.0.5.
3. Fixed: Opening CloudPlay with the Edge integrated browser could prompt for additional login details.
4. Changed: Removed unintended double-buffering in mp4 plugin.
5. Fixed: In WMA plugin if "Disable audio buffering to disk" option (Linux only) was used, a file buffer was still created.

NEW: Added the PlaylistTime(...) expression to get the time of a track in the current playlist (a sum of all previous durations) in mode 0, mode 1 adds the current track as well, the remaining time of the playlist in mode 2 and 3 (2 excludes the current track), and mode 4 for the total playlist duration.
2. Fixed: WASAPI loopback was not working.
3. Fixed: MakeMKV ripping would create processes over and over instead of using the same one.
4. Changed: When making relative paths, if nothing is in common, it doesn't convert to relative (previously would still output something -- but it wouldn't work).
5. NEW: The export all playlists tool shows a dialog to allow picking the format, whether to use relative paths, and the output path.
6. Fixed: With memory playback enabled, playing some streaming stations with ICY metadata could fail after a while.

I might need to ensure DVD Fabpasskey is working? I assumed the BD playback would rely on DVDFabPasskey for that but it seems maybe that's not the case anymore as it works without menus and with DVDFabPasskey?

Switch tracks cross-fade (smooth) isn't working. Tracks change instantly with a nasty crackle.

Actually, any track switching comes with a nasty crackle (cross-fade or not). Just upgraded from MC25 to 28.0.27 64 bit and restored library and this is my only problem so far.

Install error!

I installed 28.0.27 Windows 64 bit version into my first PC successfully.

Looks I could install it to my second PC successfully with the same license key, and exit/shutdown it.  When I restart it, the message of "Media Center was installed for a different operation system. Please reinstall Media Center." appeared.

Then I did re-run the installer MediaCenter280027-x64.exe for overwrite, and looks it was successfully installed.  Just for sure, I "Reset and Restore License" with my license key, then shutdown/exit MC 28.0.27.

When I try to restart MC 28.0.27, the same error message  "Media Center was installed for a different operation system. Please reinstall Media Center." appeared!

I did the reinstallation procedure for four times, with the same error every time.  This means I already wasted the four restores for failures (every time I received the remaining restore number e-mail).

How can I avoid this error, and how can I recover the wasted four restores??

I have confirmed; as soon as I enable the equalizer, no matter the audio output method, music continues to "play" but you can't hear anything. Uncheck equalizer, audio comes right back.

I have this problem via the built in Realtek sound card with headphones/speaker and from my above-mentioned external DAC/Amp.

Going back to MC27, everything works as expected on both output methods.

Will be using MC27 until this one is worked out as I use the EQ to control volume differences between outputs on the Monolith DAC. Set to 100% for my "Speaker Output" zone and 50% for "Headphone Output" zone.

Using the 64 bit version. I can try 32 bit if there is any value in that.

Also make sure you do not run it in any compatibility mode (neither the installer, nor MC itself), as that would make it believe its running under a different OS then it really is, prompting that message to appear.

I am having the same issue with the graphic equalizer.  Windows 7, 64 bit.

The DSP Studio Equaliser is not working in this release (EDIT: or in 28.0.26), selecting 'Flat' preset gives very strange result (see screenshot) and immediately terminates audio output.

I fully uninstalled MC280027-x64 with clean-up of registry info, and then installed again MC280027-x64 under right-click "admin" authority.  Now everything looks perfectly OK, of course shutdown/exit and restart of MC280027-x64.

I still have 7 restores remaining (after waste of 3 or 4 for the errors), and this would be sufficient for my possible further installations in other PCs. 
In case if I would have shortage of restores, I will contact you again.

Two issues.

1. Lyrics lookup missing the first two lines of each song that it looks up. It's also adding extra HTML at the end of the lyrics. For example:

2. 5.1 channels have no output except for LF & RF when using a 3rd party VST equalizer plugin. Enabling the 20 band equalizer plays all channels, but the equalizer is way too harsh like everything is set to +12db and then the adjustments are made. I'm using HDMI Bitstream to my receiver (same setup I had in MC27). Changing the output method does not change the issue. This VST equalizer plugin works in MC27 in all channels.

thanks for making upgrading even easier with taking all the custom folders and skins into the new version. 

found a small bug in the `set rules for files display`. when you use, lets say, Last played album, and then "in the range of", and you switch to an other like "before", it will put a "," in the value field, see att. this happens also when you use "before" or "is less then" without a value in the field and closing and reopening the edit search. it can put a ">" there.

Have a hard time exiting Theatre Mode when in Netflix, Esc only seems to work when I alt-tab or bring up the taskbar and after mashing it multiple times.
Other than than mostly good with Netflix, 4k/5.1 fine, HDR okish (windows implementation is not the best), Dolby Vision though does not seem to work, is there anything I need to do extra to ticking the box, do have DV capable display.

Use Backspace a few times to get back to Theater View. We're still refining the key integration, i'll see what Escape does or doesn't do right now.
