There was a problem controlling the connected DNLA device.
« on: December 10, 2021, 12:50:51 pm »

I'm using a Primare NP5 Prisma network music player. Everything was fine untill I upgraded to 28. Now I get the message "There was a problem controlling the connected DNLA device. Double-check your device, server and network settings." I click OK then get another message "Something went wrong with playback". Please Help.

You probably need to right click on the Primare NP5 under Playing Now and then change some or one of the DLNA Controller options.
Alternatively, down load the Media Renderer Analyser from here https://www.whitebear.ch/dmra.htm and see what it has to say.
If you don't understand what it tells you or still can't fix the problem then come back and post the results of the analyser.  Someone, possibly the author of the tool, will offer some help.

Would you please share which settings you've changed to get it working? I'm having a problem with my NP5 as well and have tried toggling the various settings under DLNA Controller Options. Still get the "There was a problem controlling the selected DLNA device" message.

Can play to a Wiim Mini and Anthem processor no problem. It's only the Primare NP5 that's not working.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry don't remember. All i know is that the primare would appear and disapear constantly from JR for no reason even after I thoght I fixed it in JR settings. This started when I upgraded to the newest JR release running windows 11.

Right click on the renderer and look for the (broken renderer) options.

Your renderer is probably disappearing because it doesn't respond correctly to the DLNA protocol.
