« on: October 11, 2002, 10:04:41 am »

Playback Engine: Media Jukebox is unable to acquire license...

I get this error for about every 3 tracks I play.  It only started when I moved to V8.  anyone know how I can get rid of it?

Upgrading to the latest MJ 8 may help.

If not, give us some more details about what you're trying to play. (sounds like WMA "personal security" garbage)

I have upgraded to the absolute latest and do this every time the system senses an update.  I have updates set to 1 day.  All the files I am playing are WMA files.  I don't have personal security management ticked.

When a file gets this error, if I click OK, the system jumps to the next song in the list.  If I manually select the song that fell over, it plays.  I seem to get this error every 3rd or 4 th track.

Is there a version 9 beta?  maybe I can upgrade to this and give some feedback in the bargain.

We believe this is a problem in the new Windows Media Player 9.  When the SDK is out, we should be able to fix it.  Microsoft may also fix it in the next release.

Has this problem been resolved yet? I've been seeing it on a w2k system.

Thanks, Larry

Any updates on this now that wmp9 is out officially?
I have always gotten this error.
Sometimes it crashes MJ, most of the time I just have to click ok, but it is annoying.
