Audio/Video walkthrough
« on: August 17, 2024, 07:04:01 pm »

Hi there.

could it be possible to have some guidance over the video and audio settings with Red October JRVR. The Wiki is unfortunately not very up to date.

what does this and this setting? what is recommanded depending each and each hardware. There a not that much settings but i want to understand how to use them right !

What to do? what not to do?

thanks to any of you who would provide some help. if you need more information from my end, feel free to ask.

Syms.

You could read some of the JRVR threads.  Here, for example:

The problem with documentation on features currently under development is that it is quickly out of date.  Problems get fixed, quality improves.

This one is the most significant recent change:

Hello,

i hooked my pc to my TV ( Sony X9505) and just realised it only has 2.0 HDMI imputs. So, if i understand correctly, cant handle 4K@60@10bits RVB.

in the Nvidia Pannel i cant select 10 bits with RVB if i'm at 60hz. ( only 23 to 30 hz)

does JRiver and JRVR kind of override windows settings as for color output? or this 2.0 limitation is gonna be a problem? if so what must i do?

thank you !

Start by using 8bit RGB @60Hz. Then go to Win11 Settings > System > Display > check if windows thinks the display is HDR capable and test turning it on. If all that works, you can turn HDR back off and leave it set at 8bit RGB @60Hz.

Then JRVR can automatically switch to HDR. Look in MC > Tools > Options > Video > set Video Mode to JRVR and click JRVR Settings > HDR. If it says Screen is HDR capable, you can check the boxes for Use Display's HDR... & Automatically Switch to HDR....

Hello

Should hardware accélération be enabled in vidéo settings?

There are a lot of options under advanced mode on JRVR. What Can be touched and what should not?

Are there some refining to do into lav filtres?

mmm... I went to look at this while reading on. My display is HDR capable (intel IGX & AMD Radeon RX 6600 with AGON  AG275QG3R 170Hz monitor) and I have it turned on,  and yet the JRVR settings dialog says the screen it is not compatible. ??

yes my case is unable to play 4k 60frame, full screen shows slow motion.

i use window 11 pro 24h2 new version, sound is good, but video, esp 4k needs more cpu power.
my system is 12gen 12 core, need enough operate 4k also my monitor support HDR, i think.

Use JRVR for video.  Read the topic on the wiki.  Adjust JRVR settings.

Hello
I have set UP JRiver tona nice point now

However i find that with HDR passthrough, HDR movies look a bit dark. IS using DTM the only walkaround? M'y TV is a full led Sony bravia xg9005. Thanks
