Next build: Monday
« on: January 03, 2003, 02:29:13 pm »

No more nebulous "somedays" or "tomorrows".  There'll be a new build Monday.  We promise.

And to kill the time: if you could only keep one CD, which one would it be?

Thanks everyone.

This reminds me of dating.

Girl Friend comes over and your thinking tonight's the night, and then she leaves after dinner.

"Power of the Dragonflame" by Rhapsody...or perhaps "Don't Break the Oath" by Mercyful Fate. Or even the soundtrack to "Lord of the Rings". Yes, I'll have to go for the last one.  8)

Ahh the age old "if you could only have one..." question. Well with CD burners being so popular, i would hope i were given the option to make a one CD compilation, at least that way i wouldnt get bored, and theres too much to mention for that one. Although if i were restricted to just one CD by one artist. i would be stuck in a choice between: Jimi Hendrix - The Ultimate Experience, Al Green - Greateast Hits, or Nirvana - Nevermind. The choice would be impossible. It would honestly blow a circuit in my brain trying to pick one.

Real tough one...I'd give up a lot before giving up all my CDs.  But right after my hands and my eyes I'd give up all but Purpendicular by Deep Purple.

KingSparta, How's this for a comparision: Meeting a girl you really like at Christmas time here in Sweden, seeing her for 2 nights, she leaves for London on holiday and when she comes back, leaving again to permanently move to another city...far far away :) Life is irony! :) But hey, she's coming here on monday, so that's like two presents at the same time :)

So can we count on you for heavy testing of MC?  I mean, where are your priorities?  Women just come and go, but MC is here to stay.  She will always love you.

Boston - Greatest Hits  8)

I love Boston, although I never could quite understand the need for a Greatest Hits...I copied every single studio album to one 80-minute minidisc with LP2 compression (about equivalent to 192kbps .mp3) with room to spare.  That's more consecutive Boston than most people can take in one sitting.  :)

-Doug

P.S. I should add that the tracklist of the GH album must be relatively subjective, since Boston never really had (IMO) any real stinkers.  Even Walk On was a refreshing change from the grunge genre when it was released.

That's easy:

Electric Ladyland by The Jimi Hendrix Experience

I know it's a double LP, but fits on one convenient CD.

Yes, the idea of Boston having a greatest hits album is odd, since everyone I know owns all of their albums!  If I had been the producer of that set, I would've left off the Kalodner edit of "Higher Power" and replaced it with "I Need Your Love".

Well JimH... I sure will use MC to play all the romantic songs when she's here...but I'll think testing ends there. Except for user friendliness testing perhaps, as she, as an computer novice, wants to change the songs because of my bad taste in music! :)
And I know MC loves me, how could someone you love that bad not love you back? :)

How about "Blue Monday"  or maybe "If Tomorrow Never Comes"?  Just passing time watching the sunset into the west and waiting patiently for the next MC9 in central Texas.  Joe Karnes

I'd just as soon be dead as to have to only keep one.  But if there were a fire and I were going to grab some CDs (assuming my MC database is burned up, of course) John Coltrane/Johnny Hartman would be on the list.  I'm sure I could grab Moody Blues Days of Future Past.  Maybe a quick dive for Shirley Horn's Here's To Life.

Minority taste, but "Stan Getz At Storyville". One of the greatest jazz small groups (Getz, Jimmy Raney, Al Haig). Chamber music played at impossible tempos ("Move").

yes, you need to look at the first message in this forum, but you might want to wait.

I can not get any files to play, Crashes when you atempt to import.

and going from 9.0.90 back to 9.0.88 is not possable without knowing how to manualy cleaning the registry.

I am hoping at least the play and import bug is fixed and a new release is put out today.
