MJ 8 & MJ 9 Co-Existence
« on: November 06, 2002, 05:58:53 am »

I really would love to test MJ 9, but I DON'T want to blow away my working copy of MJ 8 to do so.  Is there not a way that during alpha & beta stages the two applications can co-exist on the same system?  I seem to recall being told during MJ 8's beta that this was not possible.  I have done a lot of software testing over many many years and many software vendors have been able to provide this functionality.

I am not trying to complain and I will probably try out MJ 9 even if you say no.  But I think it would be tremendous to be able to have both loaded and not to have to install/uninstall/reinstall.  Thanks!!

Sorry, but it would require a considerable effort on our end to make both versions run together. (because of things like COM control registration, changed API's, etc.)

We have decided instead to allocate our resources to improving version 9.

I hope you will understand.

Thanks aRCLiGHT.
