Hoping someone can help me.  I've searched the forum and not found quite the answer I need.

I need some help in basic setup of MC and Media Server.  

I have two PCs with an ethernet LAN.  I would like to each to perform the following functions:

HTPC
Play music
Access playlists
Host Media Server

Main PC
Manage library
Edit Tags
Create playlists


So, my basic question is this:

Is there a way these 2 PCs can share a library?  So I can edit it on the main PC and access it and run media server on the other PC.

If I create a library on the main PC which links to the netwroked drive, how can media server and MC on the HTPC access it?

I hope this makes some sort of sense.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What you'd probably want to do is put the library on a drive on the HTPC, share that folder, then load and manage that library (edit tags and DB fields, create playlists, etc.) on the main PC. You'd also run Media Server on the main PC and connect to it from the HTPC when you want to play tunes from there.

Currently there is no way to update a media library via a Media Server connection. Even though it LOOKS as if you're making changes, you're really not. People have been asking for this to change for a looooooong time, so I wouldn't expect it to happen any time soon. Unfortunately.

Have struggled for qute a while trying to figure this part out.

How can I open a library from my HTPC on my den PC?

Is there a file somewhere I need to open?  Where is it?
