Annoying problem with Burner
« on: December 22, 2003, 08:34:11 am »

To JohnT.
If you are still here.
If not ,have good time and i will pop-up my post after the new year.
As you know ,with Windows 2000 you may need to disable AutoRun to get burn troubleless.
But if you do ,finish Autoplay cd ,finish autorip fonctions.
As you know ,you have to change the registery ...until the next burn session.
And re-change again after that.
This is a PITA ,and not of the bread variety...

There is anyway to set to 'Disable for only this session'
Or to have the possibility to reset Autorun from inside MC

Funny, I was going to ask for the same thing.  I only tried a burn once, but not disabling Auto-Start even on WinXP resulted in a bad burn.  My second attempt with it off worked.  It would be great to have it off just for the duration of the burn.

Do not know how all of it is working exatly.
Can be that you cannot remove it only for a session.

But ,in this case and if such a thing possible , maybe a buton inside McC reinstalling AutoRun.

Frankly to run" Regedt32.exe' everytime is far to be user friendly.
What i do not understand is why Nero or MusicMatch do not care about Autorun on

Weird thing. I burned that CD this morning and had it turn off autoinsert notification.  Tonight when I went to autorip a CD it did.  I'll have to do more testing to see if it reverts on MC shutdown.

You may have another program who re-enable it.

Here the way is registery and reboot.

Anyway ,not using MC burn anymore.
Waiting to get help concerning my problem. I do not expect to get any before after the holidays- and this is normal-
So ,auto rip set for ever for the coming days.

If you haven't figured how to turn auto play back on yet here a way I have win XP and this is what I do . under my computer your drives should show , click on the drive properties , click auto play and there a list of options for when a audio disk, installation etc. Is inserted just click on what you want for each disk but you would have to disable it again the next time you brun with MC and start over again after. Hope this tip help you i f you haven't figure it it out yet.

not such a thing in Windows 2000

Can be that this setting can be found in another place.
If it is the case , i do not know where it is

To be able to do as you say ,would be an acceptable thing.
Thank you
