Failed update: Help!
« on: January 14, 2004, 04:08:53 pm »

I just tried to update my copy of MC 9 and the install failed.  Now when I try to launch MC, I get a message that says,
"Failed to initialize Registration control"

I don't want to lose my settings and am not sure where my license key may be, so how can I fix this?  Thanks in advance,
Pat

Try installing again.

If that doesn't work, download again.  Do not use a download manager to do this.

Hmm, I'm still confused.  I used the Check for Updates from the Help menu and didn't notice the name of any files that may have been downloaded.  What should they be called and where should they be located?

What do you mean by a download manager?  I assume that I would just go to the MC Home and download the most recent copy?  Would this overwrite my settings and license?

Thanks again,
pat

Installed successfully!

Am I correct to assume that all of my previous View Schemes should have disappeared?  I know that there is the new method of creating View Schemes, but I was hoping they would have been saved somewhere and still available.  Thanks!
