JRiver Music Exchange format.  We developed in when we were trying to work more closely with the record labels.  It's a cool but dormant (sleeping) format.

You can take any file that MJ can play, add images, lyrics, web links, and then package the files into a single file that contains a directory of all the other files.  It's based on Microsoft Structured Storage.  

We applied for several patents on this technology.  I think it is still ahead of anything else available.
