where people could stream from each other's libraries.
the output of the stream should have an adjustment from the server so that the server admin can adjust the stream? (32kbps, 56kbps, 128kbps etc...)
a area (web page) to see what server is online, i am guessing like it was 3 years or so ago would be what your looking at.
what would a user who is running a server get?
maybe count the amount of data taken from his server, and offer download streams at a discounted price since he provided content for the service? so if his site was up 24\7\31 days in the month and 1 gig was streamed the cost to him maybe $5, and not the $10 (or what ever)
would this mean each file would need to be digitaly fingerprinted? this way money can be paied out to the copyright holder.
a way to measure the quality of the file would be nice not just on KBPS but on any errors in the media file, no errors=Best, then Very good, good, ok, bad
a way for a user to filter out lower quality media files, i for one would not want to hear a bad file.
a top hits play list "J River Radio" and the top picks of what it played by users would hit the "J River Radio" play list
buy a stream? where a user who listened to the stream could then buy it and it could be then converted to a useable media file (MP3) so it can be passed to a mp3 player? or burned to a data CD?
a way to filter out slow connections? i would not want to download something from a user with a 300 baud modem.
maybe a new thread?
