Trouble importing wave files
« on: March 13, 2005, 05:15:40 pm »

After importing my audio files, only the mp3 tag information appears in MC. How do I get MC to read the tags in wave files. Is a plugin required for this.

If the tag info is in the WAV files, then I don't think MC can inport this info.  As far as I know there isn't really a standard for the method of storing this info in WAV files.

The WAV format does allow for this.  Musicmatch Jukebox is one program I know of that stores tag info in WAV files, incuding album art.

Thanks guys! Because of the low cost of hard drives today, I keep all of my music files in a wave format. (I use only mp3's on my I Pod). Musicmatch Jukebox (which I have used for years) allows storing tag information in wave files, including cover art.  Since I have thousand's of music files, it's going to be a major pain to make the switch. I thought perhaps wave files might be an issue, but I was hoping fo a easy way out. Any suggestions?

Why not do lossless audio?  It's half the size and more widely used.  APE, FLAC, WMA Lossless, Apple.

This is fine for PC only applications, but if you're looking to follow the media player route, most players are rather limited in format support.  My Streamium only supports MP3 and WAV, for example.
