Anyone know what this error means??
« on: September 26, 2002, 06:35:29 pm »

A device error occurred. Error number is 1023
Error data is: KEY: 5 ASC: 26 ASCQ: 0

This is what I get when trying to burn a CD (mp3 to WAV) using W2K pro.
Any help would be appreciated

The literal error message is:
"Parameter list length error."
but this probably doesn't help you much. I assume you're burning an audio CD. Try the simplest case and see if you still get the error. Try a fresh CD blank, select one file to burn, put it in test mode, select a low speed like 2X, turn off the "decode mp3 direct.." and normalize options. Then see if it will burn without the error. Then, if it works, try (in this order):

1. up the burn speed
2. add more files to the list
3. select "decode mp3 direct"

See which step it fails at. See if you can play the tracks ok in MJ before burning. Post your system info here (fromt the help menu in MJ).

Other things to try:
- deselect the "use generic driver" option
- deselect "use internal aspi" option
- update your aspi layer

See the FAQ and "cd burning tips" for help with the above steps.
