I have owned the SMC wireless Media Device for almost a year and only recently purchased the Media Center Software. One of the main reasons for purchasing MC 11 was on my research it showed support specifically for my EZ Stream device. I cannot get it working what ever I try, I have probably at this point put 50 hours into trying. It works perfect with the original SMC software.  Can anyone help me?

I currently show this device as "only recognizing SMC servers." That info is pretty old now, more than a year, so it may have changed since then. If you'd like to make network sniff using ethereal (www.ethereal.com) and e-mail it to me (gateley at jriver.com), I'll take a look.

If you can find where your research indicated it was supported, let me know. If it's on our site, I'll fix it.

First thank you for your response. Well the way that I determined that it was supported was when I did the 30 day eval the software contained the SMC device within its UPnP Server Options in the plugin setup itself. I "assumed" that with it being available under the "UPnP Server Options" that it would be supported. Am I wrong?

I kept digging on it myself and found within the forum where you need to be running the original firmware on the SMC Receiver. My receiver did do a firmware upgrade when I first attached it to my media server way back. So I have also posed the question to SMC as to why their receiver won't work with what is one of the best Media Center pieces of software on the market?

Its in the server options from back when it worked, before the firmware update. Have you tried reverting to the earlier firmware?

Well that is the question that I am posing to SMC how do you load the original firmware, there is no master reset. I have the original CD but the firmware was embedded in the application.

I have had a similar problem with the SMC EZstream. The only media servers that acutally work are the SMC server supplied with the product and the TVersity server. Posts I have read else where, indicate that Nero MediaHome and Media Connect 11 worked on the older version of SMC's firmware. I have also  put a request in to SMC but have had no response. I wonder if pressure can be applied to SMC from the JRiver side?
