Tried using media server for the first time today since upgrading to 8 and ran into a weird thing where I was connecting (from work through T1 to the DSL at home) and downloading the library, but when selecting a song I got "opening" and then after a moment it would move to the next song on the library without playing a note or giving me a "buffering" message.  Total log from the home client below.  Is it me, or is it MJ?

Both version 8, but probably different releases.  I don't think we've changed firewalls at work since I used Media Server successfully with MJ 7, and my business is Internet so I have permissions to download and stream in any case.  The library did download into the remote client, but MJ/MS crapped out on the tunes.

On Monday, I'll try to align the release numbers.  I hope we can get this solved because I'm so enthused about Media Server that I'm about to buy more upstream bandwidth from home so I can serve myself music at work.

They have to be same release.  It should be current also.

Check it on your local network first to see if it works there.

These problems tend to be network issues, so please don't rely on us to solve them.

OK, it turns out it was matching the releases.
